James Mitchell Zimmerman, 57, of Huron, died Jan. 29, 2007, at University Hospital, Cleveland.
He was born Feb. 25, 1950, in Sandusky and was a life long resident of Huron. He graduated from Huron High School in 1968 and worked for Ford Motor Company and the former Showboat Restaurant. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart in 1971.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association; life member of Huron AMVETS and Disabled American Veterans. He was an avid hunter and fly fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Nanette (Murphy) of Berlin Heights, to whom he was married 31 years; a son, Cory Zimmerman of Berlin Heights; his father, George Zimmerman of Huron; a sister, Katy (Jim) McElroy of Berlin Heights; and two brothers, John (Kendall) Zimmerman of Berlin Heights, and Larry (Jerri) Zimmerman of Bellevue.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mildred (Mitchell) Zimmerman.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Foster Funeral Home, 410 Main St., Huron. Burial will be later in Arlington National Cemetery.
