Edith Phillips, 94, formerly of Brinker Street in Bellevue and recently of Orchard Grove Assisted Living, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, at her residence.
She was born June 9, 1913, in Sandusky, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Scheel) Schirg. She married Robert Phillips on July 23, 1935; he preceded her in death, Sept. 11, 1969. She worked at General Electric Lamp Plant, Bellevue, and retired from MemorialHospital, Sandusky. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Bellevue; NARVRE; and Four County Young at Heart. She enjoyed collecting shoes and was an avid bingo player.
She is survived by two granddaughters, Kelley (David) Ziegler, Bellevue, and Dana (David) Riemann, Huron; grandchildren, Andrew, Jessica, and Cody Ziegler, and Kaitlin, and Kyle Riemann; brother, Carl Schirg, Sandusky; and son-in-law James Didion,Bellevue.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Didion; and brothers Roland and William Schirg.
At the request of the deceased, funeral services will be privately conducted today.
