Rosemary Marie LaGrass died peacefully Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at Stein Hospice.
She graduated from Sandusky High School in 1953, and retired from Famous Supply Co. in 1998. She loved the waterfront, and enjoyed going to the beach with her friends.
She leaves behind her loving brother, Frank LaGrass, who never left her side, and his wife, Josephine, who helped raise her after her parents died. Also surviving are her nieces, Joanne Scally, Kathy Salkind and Paula (Will Schlotterer) LaGrass, all of Sandusky, and Judy Bouzid of Pompano Beach, Fla.; nephew, Michael (Sherri) LaGrass, Sandusky; great-nieces, Angela (Christopher) Walton, Teresa Scally, Amy (Tyler) Tigges, and Stephanie Salkind, all of Sandusky, Laura (Lori Howenstine) Santoro, Cleveland Heights, Ohio, Linda (Rick) Sebolt, Collins, Ohio, and Carly Schlotterer, Denver; great-nephews, James (Deborah) Scally III, and Benjamin Schlotterer, both of Huron, Anthony LaGrass, Columbus, Karl-Heinz Riedel IV, Miami Beach, Fla., Jacques and Francois Bouzid, and Dieter Reile, all of Pompano Beach, Fla.; and many great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Angeline (Chiramonte) LaGrass; sisters, Mary, Rose and Margaret LaGrass, in infancy; brothers, Joseph and Carl "Kelly" LaGrass; nephew, John LaGrass; and great-niece,Stephanie LaGrass; and niece, Francine LaGrass Todd.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Sunday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. on Monday in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Ave., Sandusky; the Rev. Chris Kardzis is celebrating. Burial will be inCalvary Cemetery.
