Kenneth J. Kessler, 35, of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008, in his home.

Ken was born Oct. 5, 1972, in Sandusky, to James E. and Carole A. Cutcher Kessler, who survive. On Aug. 1, 1998, he married Christina "Chrissy" M. Andrus, who survives. In addition to his wife and parents, survivors include his two daughters, Hannah R. and Margaret A. Kessler, at home; three sisters, Kathy Kessler of Elyria, Karen (Mike) Claar and Patty Kessler, both of Sandusky; a brother, Michael (Debbie) Kessler of Sandusky; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Tom and Connie Andrus of Dublin, Ohio; three brothers-in-law, Tim (Laura) Andrus, Matthew Andrus and David Andrus, all of Columbus; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Ken was a graduate of St. Mary Central Catholic High School, Sandusky. He got his undergraduate degree in religious studies; a minor in political science; and hismaster's degree in educational leadership from the University of Dayton. He taught at St. Joseph Central Catholic School, Fremont, and served as Principal of Bishop Flaget School, Chillicothe, since 2001.

He was a member of Knights of Columbus; the National Association of Elementary School Principals; the National Catholic Educational Association; and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. He was also an organ donor.

He was a fun-loving daddy and devoted husband who will be sorely missed on this earth. Ken lived a life full of faith. He felt very strongly about the importance of Catholic education and truly enjoyed his job as principal of Bishop Flaget School.

Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Haller Funeral Home, 1661 Western Ave., Chillicothe, where a wake service will be at 8 p.m.; or 4-8 p.m. Friday at Groff Funeral Home, Sandusky. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary Church, Chillicothe, with the Rev. Lawrence Hummer and the Rev. William Hahn, celebrants.

A second Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sandusky, with the Rev. Chris Kardzis officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
