Irene J. Sharpe, 92, of Sandusky, passed away late Sunday morning, Jan. 27, 2008, in Erie County Care Facility, in Huron.
She was born March 24, 1915, in Owenton, Ky. She was a graduate of Orrville High School and attended Fort Wayne Bible College in Indiana.
She worked as a bookkeeper for some local businesses (WLEC, Security Terminal, Grants) and later retired from The Pharm where she worked for a few years. She enjoyed watching the Indians, Browns, NASCAR and tennis and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She attended Faith Memorial Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandy L. Steinbicker of Portland, Ore., and Patricia A. "Patty" (Walter) Wingfield of Sprucepine, N.C.; son, Ron A. (Kathy) Sharpe of Sandusky; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Morrison L. (Lori) Dillender ofBellevue; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adelbert H. "Bud" Sharpe in 1992; parents, Burl Kitchen and Elizabeth (Stewart) Dillender; two brothers, Walter and LonnieDillender; and a nephew, Russell Dillender.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, and from 10 a.m. Friday until funeral services at 11 a.m. at Faith Memorial Church, 1320 E. Strub Road, Sandusky. The Rev. Kenneth L. Hiser will officiate. Burial will be in Milan Cemetery, Milan.
