Frank J. Koch, 54, Salem, Ohio, died unexpectedly, Thursday evening, Jan. 24, 2008, at his residence.
He was born April 6, 1953, in Lakewood, Ohio. He was a 1971 graduate of Sandusky High School, and a 1975 graduate of The Ohio State University. He began his banking career with Third National Bank in Sandusky, and was employed by Huntington National Bank. He was past president of Sky Bank, executive vice president of Sky Financial Group and also worked for Citizens Banking Company, Salineville, Ohio.
Frank was an avid golfer, achieving a hole-in-one at Thunderbird Hills in Huron and continuing as a member of the Salem Country Club and Salem Golf Club. He was also an Eagle Scout and leader with Troop No. 6 in Salem.
He is survived by his sons, Alexander K. Koch of Kent, Ohio, and Calvin F. Koch of Columbus; his mother, Marian A. Koch of Sandusky; and sisters, Renee V. (Donald) Ramsey of Huron and Candace M. (Bernard) Seiler of Sandusky.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raphael "Ray" J. Koch in 1997.
Private family visitation and services will be Thursday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. David Nuss will officiate. Entombment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
