Donal Francis Goff, 77,Sandusky, died early Monday morning in Stein Hospice Care Center following a brief illness.
He was born in Cleveland, Oct. 10, 1930. He attended high school in Toledo, Ohio, obtained his GED from John Hayes High School in Cleveland, and attended Case Western Reserve. In 1958, he moved to Sandusky where he was the fleet manager at Grill Meats. He retired in 1980, as pricing manager for Chef's Pantry. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War, from 1948-1951, as a corpsman working in the military hospital at Camp LeJeune. He was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Erie County, Rockwell Springs Trout Club and the Huron Yacht Club. He enjoyed restoring classic cars, fishing,classical music, hockey andf ootball.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia (Stein) Goff, whom he married Sept. 14, 1957, and they recently celebrated 50 years of marriage; daughter, Jennifer (Rick) DeWitt, Amherst, Ohio; three sons, Brian (Pam) Goff, Sandusky, Martin (Shelley) Goff, Sylvania, Ohio, and David (Lisa) Goff, Sandusky; eleven grandchildren: Nicole, Elizabeth, Kristin, Justin, Jessica, Sarah, Kyle, Kevin, Dylan, Madison, and Lauren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
His parents, Emmett and Mary (Frank) Goff; brother, James Bernard Goff; and sister-in-law, Eleanor Goff, preceded him in death.
Memorial services will be at1 p.m. Sunday at Stein Hospice, with a gathering to follow; Stein Hospice Chaplain John Miller will officiate. Inurnment will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
