Martha E. (Green) Horner, 83, of Amherst, Ohio, died Monday,Jan. 21, 2008, in Fairview Hospital after a short illness.
She was bornSept. 4, 1924, in Paintsville, Ky. She lived most of her life in Vermilion, and lived in Amherst the past 11 years. She was a member of Harbourtown Community Church where she was a Sunday School teacher. She also enjoyed cooking.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Edward R. Horner Sr. of Amherst; daughters, Linda McMillan of Amherst, Kathy Schoening of Dubuis, Pa., Shirley Sue Poprock of Lorain, Ohio, Birtha Mae Manley of Sandusky, and Brenda Kay Boyd of Vermilion; son, Edward R. Horner Jr. of Vermilion; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were two granddaughters, Belinda Boyd and Marsha Schoening; her parents, Columbus and Bertha (Right) Green; brothers, Tim, Charlie, Bill and Raymond Green; and sisters, Rosey and Lillie Skaggs.
Friends may call from 2-4 and7-9 p.m. Thursday, in Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South St., Vermilion. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Riddle Funeral Home; the Reverend Jim Cooper, pastor of Harbourtown Community Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
