Janet R. Doebel, 69, of Clyde, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
Janet was born Oct. 31, 1938, in Fremont, to Carl and Margaret (Hawk) Purdham, now deceased. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde, and the 1956 graduating class of Clyde High School. On Sept. 15, 1956, she married Arthur L. "Bud" Doebel and he preceded her in death Aug. 11, 1986. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bruce Gadd, in 2000.
Survivors include her children, Judith (Ellis) Raugh of Oak Harbor, Steven (Veda) Doebel of Clyde, Cynthia (Jim) Webber of Clyde, Lisa (Scott) Wagner of Sandusky and Michael (Lisa) Doebel of Clyde; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; her siblings, Thomas (Marilyn) Purdham of Toledo, Carl (Evie) Purdham of Denver, John (Carol) Purdham of Norfolk, Va., Mary (Will) Miller of Fremont and Richard Purdham of Columbus.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde, where a funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Gerry Gosnell officiating. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery, Clyde.
