Katherine "Kay" E. (McManus) Walton, 97, of Norwalk, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at Gaymont Nursing Home.
She was born July 28, 1910, in Norwalk, daughter of the late Patrick and Rose (Woller) McManus. She was a graduate of St. Paul High School. She worked at the Norwalk Reflector office, was a teacher at St. Joseph School, Monroeville, and a manager of the Edith Mae Hat Shop, Norwalk, before moving to Detroit where she worked for the State of Michigan Department of Labor, and the Packard Motor Car Company. She and her husband, Harold, moved to Sandusky in 1974; she was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
She is survived by her sisters, Trudy Dysard of Bellevue, and Jean Schnellinger of Norwalk; and 14 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Walton, in 1987; her parents; brothers, Edward McManus, and John in infancy; and sisters, Anna Hartman and Mabel Bailey.
Friends and family may call from 9-10 a.m. on Tuesday at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk. At 10:30 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk; the Rev. David Cirata, associate pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Norwalk.
