Barbara C. Lang, 88, of Sandusky, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, at the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born Oct. 10, 1919, in Tiffin, daughter of the late John N. and Cordelia E. (Allman) Omlor. She graduated from Tiffin Calvert High School and Mercy School of Nursing, Toledo. She was a registered nurse at the former Providence Hospital, Sandusky. She also owned and operated Lang-Elchert Religious Store for several years.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the flower committee, and Altar Rosary Society. She enjoyed golfing, gardening, playing cards, bowling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Suzanne (Bob) Kreienkamp of Bowling Green, Ohio, Therese (Al) Heitz of Sandusky; sons, John (Margaret) Lang of Thornton, Pa., and Paul (Jacqueline) Lang of Sandusky; five grandchildren, Chad (Sherry) Stanley, Jessica Stanley, Eric (Angela) Stanley, and Joe Heitz, all of Sandusky, and Sara (Brian) Hartlaub of Norwalk; and eight great-grandchildren, Leah, Noah, Tyler, Jonah, Joshua, Lyndsey, Sarah, and Seth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Lang in 1983; five children in infancy; her parents; eight brothers, Bill, Albert, Louis, Francis, Robert, John, Richard and Paul Omlor; and sister, Helen Baumgardner.
Friends will be received 5-8 p.m. on Friday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Prayers will be recited at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, Sandusky. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
