Bernard A. "Bernie" Brotzki, 77, of Sandusky, died early Wednesday morning, Jan. 16, 2008, after an extended illness.
He was born in Sandusky, March 29,1930, and was a 1948 graduate of St. Mary's High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War.
Bernie was an electrician for 45 years, having worked out of Union Hall I.B.E.W. Local 867, and retiring in 1996. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and American Legion Post 83.
He is survived by his children, Terrie Wilson of Canal Fulton, Ohio, Cindy (Bruce) Galler of Knoxville, Tenn., Ann (Dave) Waddington, and Joan (Jim) Chapman, both of Sandusky, Tom (Mary) Brotzki of Hudson, N.H., and Pete Brotzki of Bowling Green, Ohio; 13 grandchildren, Ben, Justin and Brandon Wilson, Nicki and Jenn Galler, Tyler Waddington, Katie, Jimmy and Jillian Chapman, Bridget and Caroline Brotzki, and Matthew and Nathan Brotzki; one great-grandson, Maddox Wilson; two brothers, Franklin (Mary) Brotzki, Ralph (Rita) Brotzki; sister, Lucy (Joe) Braun; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth P. (Hohler) Brotzki, after 54 years of marriage, who died April 16, 2007; a son, Joseph, in infancy (1971); parents, Frank Anthony and Lucy (Lucius) Brotzki; and brother, John Brotzki.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, at David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave.,Sandusky. Prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. David Nuss will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
