Jane N. (Semprich) Nims, 91, died peacefully Thursday evening, Jan. 10, 2008, in Providence Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born March 20, 1916, in Cleveland, to John and Mary Semprich. When she was four years old she came to live with the John & Sarah Fitz family on their farm on U.S. 6 in Sandusky. She attended Venice school and was a 1934 graduate of Margaretta High School. After graduation she worked in Sandusky, first as a housekeeper and then for a time at the old American Crayon Co. On Jan. 27, 1938, she was married to Morris "Bus" Nims at St. Mary's Rectory by the Rev. D. J. Dobmeyer. She and her husband were lifelong farmers in the Bellevue and Clyde areas. She raised chickens and sold eggs for many years while they were farming. When her husband died, on August 27, 1993, she continued to live on their farm, but by then she was more or less in retirement. As her health started to decline, she moved to assisted living, and then moved to Providence Care Center. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Clyde.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews; her two brothers, Anthony Semprich and Charles Semprich; her dear friends, the Bob and Rita Steinbauer family of Clyde, and other friends in Clyde; and the Braun and Fitz families in Sandusky.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bus; her parents; and brothers, Anthony & Charles Semprich, and a brother in infancy.
