Rose Marie (Pietrafase) Berger, 81, of Bunnell, Fla., and formerly of Monroeville, died unexpectedly Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 12, 1926, in Dunmore, Pa., to Joseph & Carmella Pietrafase. She married Snowden Berger on June 3, 1950; he preceded her in death on June 4, 1999. She retired from General Electric Lamp Plant in Bellevue in 1986. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Altar & Rosary Society, both in Monroeville, St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bunnell, and the Norwalk Ohio Women of the Moose No. 239. She was an avid bingo player and loved playing cards and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas (Sharon) Berger of Norwalk, and James (Kathy) Berger of Huron; two daughters, Jeannie (Terry) Hartley of Monroeville, and Mary Lou Berger of Norwalk; five grandchildren, Angela, Lori, Branden, Logan, and Emma; five great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Aidan, Makayla, Casey, and Colin; two sisters, Margaret (Andrew) Huda, and Ann (Pat) Lacertoso, both of Dunmore, Pa.; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and two brothers, Joseph & William Pietrafase.
Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe St., Monroeville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel St., Monroeville; the Rev. Kenneth J. Lill will officiate. Entombment will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the donor's favorite charity.
