William "Bill" Lee, 67, Sandusky, died late Thursday evening in the Erie County Care Facility following a brief illness.
He was born in Elyria, Ohio, on Jan. 12, 1940, and was a 1958 graduate of Elyria High School. He owned and operated Lee Brothers Home Improvement for15 years and worked at Lowes for seven years. He was a member of Science Lodge 50-F. & A. M., Singara Grotto, Zenobia Shrine, and the Scottish Rite of Toledo. He was a member and past-president of the Erie County Home Builders Association and the Boy Scouts of America for many years. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He loved spending time with friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne L. (Kemper) Lee, whom he married on Sept. 3, 1960; two sons, David C. Lee, Palm Springs, Calif., and Dale E. (Veronica) Lee, Sandusky; two grandchildren, Brooke and Brandon Lee; his sister, Barbara (David) Hassel, Avon, Ohio; his brother, Jeffrey K. (Connie) Lee, Huron; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
His parents, Carlton "Ed" and Margaret (Baetz) Lee, preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday, in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, with a Masonic Service at 5:45 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, in the funeral home; the Rev. Don Spurlock, First Christian Church, will officiate.
