William M. "Billy" Cooley, 34, Vickery, died unexpectedly at his residence Sunday afternoon.
He was born July 28, 1973, in Port Clinton, and was a 1991 graduate of Margaretta High School. He worked construction with his brother for many years, and also worked at Venetian Marina for several years. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on his cars, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his father, William (Donna) Cooley, Galion, Ohio; his mother, Sue (JR) Hatfield, Vickery; grandfather, Roy (Wanita) Cooley, Arlington, Va.; six sisters, Angela (Dennis) Weber, Talbott, Tenn., Michelle Cooley, Sandusky, Rachel Cooley, Galion, Heidi (Shannon Collins) Hatfield, Vickery, Dawn (Jeremy) Lohr, Galion, and Laura (Jimmy) Gonzales, Sandusky; three brothers, Glenn (Teresa) Hatfield, Sandusky, Terry Hatfield, and Jerry Hatfield, both of Vickery; many beloved nieces and nephews; a multitude of close friends; and life-long friends, Vince Perry, Scott Hall, Jack Frazier, Rob McDonald, Brian Haegney and Rusty Howlett.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Lois Cooley; and maternal grandparents, Ed and Minnie Sokolowski.
Friends may call from 1-3 and 5-9 p.m. Thursday in Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday in the funeral home; the Rev. Chris Kardzis will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Salem Township.
