Edna Mae Klann Apel, 98, widow of Dr. William A. Klann and O. Daniel Apel, of Loudon, Tenn., and formerly of 161 Sunset Drive, Sandusky, passed away at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, in Loudon Health Care Center.

She was born Nov. 12, 1909, in Walland, Tenn., while her parents, the late John and Ida Lails Harveston, were on vacation. She grew up in Cincinnati. In 1926, she got married and then moved to Wellington, Ohio, in 1933. After the death of her first husband, she remarried and moved to Sandusky in 1958. She was a member of First United Church of Christ, Sandusky. In 2003, she moved to Tennessee to be near her son and daughter-in-law.

She is survived by her son and daughters-in-law - Robert and Cynthia Klann of Vonore, Tenn., and Jeanne Klann of Twinsburg, Ohio; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by a son, William R. Klann; sister, Grace Grote; and brothers, Ray and Paul Harveston.

Graveside service and interment 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Spring Grove Cemetery, Cincinnati.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
