Gordon John Bergmoser ended his 93-year journey in life, in the company of his family, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, Saturday morning, Jan. 5, 2008.
He was born on Oct. 1, 1914. He lived a wonderful life in Sandusky, and Venice, Fla. He enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing and music. He valued time spent with family and friends, especially his annual birthday and Father's Day visits to Kelley's Island with his son, wife, daughter-in-law, and many friends.
He was employed at the former Apex Manufacturing for 23 years, the Sandusky Post Office for two years, and Stein Associates, Inc. for 19 years; he retired in 1978. He was a long-time member of the Sandusky Yacht Club and the AMVETS.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia (Lehmann); one son, Don (Francine) Bergmoser of Huron; and one brother, Don Bergmoser of Venice. He is also survived by extended family members, John (Tyra) Lehmann of Avon, Ohio, Regina (Chris) Miller of Newton, N.C., Linda (Steve) Hill of Madison, Ohio, Gary Bergmoser, Millie Bergmoser, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille Palmer Bergmoser; his parents, Eugene & Norma (Pressler) Bergmoser; and one brother, Paul Bergmoser.
Friends may call from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 4 p.m. Monday at Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. A celebration of life will follow at the Sandusky Yacht Club, from 4:30-7 p.m., for family and friends. Family committal services will be held in Oakland Cemetery.
