David Fry McClain, 59, of Walnut Street, Bellevue, died unexpectedly Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007, in The Bellevue Hospital.
He was born Sept. 7, 1948, in Bellevue, the son of Thomas J. and Florence Mae "Rosie" Fry McClain. David was a 1966 graduate of Bellevue High School and was a veteran who served as a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps. He enjoyed spending time with his Labrador retrievers which he raised and trained. He was an avid golfer and a member of AA for 23 years. David was a member of NHRA and attended many of their drag car racing events. He was employed at Lear Corp., Huron, for 11 years.
Survivors include his brother, James Scott (Diane) McClain; his sister, Peggy Gilbert of Bellevue; and his niece, Abigail Gilbert of Bellevue; as well as a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Foos and Foos FuneralService, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, where a prayer service will be at 3:30 p.m. The funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Bellevue with the Very Rev. Keith Stripe, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Catholic Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 46 and VFW Post 1238 of Bellevue.
