James J. Conry Jr., 83, of Collins, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007, in Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk.
He was born July 7, 1924, in Collins and lived there his whole life. He worked at New Departure in Sandusky as a precision grinder, retiring in 1986. He coached Little League baseball. He was a member of St. Mary's Church in Wakeman, Bellevue American Legion Post 83, and Bellevue Eagles Aerie 732. He loved golfing, bowling and drag racing.
Survivors include his sons, Mike Conry of Columbus and Denny Conry of Norwalk; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Virginia "Ginny" Conry and his parents, James J. and Mary (Malloy) Conry Sr.
There will be a scripture service at 4 p.m. today followed by visitation until 8 p.m. at Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper St., Wakeman, and where a prayer service will be at 9:45 Friday followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 46 E. Main St., Wakeman. The Rev. Doug Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
