Vicki Lynn Carnicom, 47, of Sandusky, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.

She was born Oct. 5, 1960, in Port Clinton, the daughter of Gilbert J. Carnicom Jr. and Janet E. (Nichols) Carnicom. Vicki was employed at Firelands Regional Medical Center as a case management supervisor and a counselor in the psychiatric unit for the last 121/2 years. Prior to that she was contracted through Ford for the EAP program and was with the Boy's Village of Sandusky.

Vicki was a graduate of Port Clinton High School having lettered all four years in tennis, track and basketball . She currently holds records at the high school. She was inducted into the Port Clinton Athletic Hall of Fame on June 8, 2002. She graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of science degree in psychology and received her master of education degree from the University of Toledo. Vicki was a member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of NW Ohio.

Surviving are her partner, Valerie Jones of Sandusky; father, Gilbert (Maxine) Carnicom Jr.; mother, Janet (Joe Lambeth) Carnicom of Port Clinton; brother, Steven G. (Christine) Carnicom of Minneapolis, Minn.; nephew, Austin Carnicom; and aunts Marian Swift of Nemecolin, Pa., Edie Lezaic and Kathy Nichols, of Warren, Ohio, and Caroline Nichols of Naples, Fla.; and her beloved dog, Allie; as well as many friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Nichols and Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Carnicom Sr.; her aunt, Pat Boling; and uncles, Jack, Duane, and Harry Nichols.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Neidecker, LeVeck and Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, with the Rev. James Lehman officiating, and where additional visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until services.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, Cancer Services of Sandusky, or to Big Brothers Big Sisters, Sandusky.
