Johnny Greathouse, 64, of rural Willard, passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2007, at his residence.
He was born May 2, 1943, in Buchanan, Va., the son of Bureda (Bentley) Greathouse Hicks and his father, the late Archie Greathouse, and was a resident of Willard the last 35 years. He retired in 1997 from Ford Motor Company in Sandusky. He was a U.S. Army veteran stationed in Germany during peacetime. He was a member of the American Legion in Delaware, Ohio. Johnny was an avid coin collector and a gardener.
He is survived by his wife, Anna (Bolen) Greathouse, whom he married June 28, 1964; five children, Angie (Brian) Gardner of Willard, Cynthia Greathouse of Willard, Dawn (Mike) Collins of Canfield, Ohio, Johnny (fianc, Shannon Featheringill) Greathouse Jr. of New Washington, Ohio, and Ron (Samantha) Greathouse of Willard; 10 grandchildren; his mother, Bureda (Greathouse) Hicks of Plymouth; seven brothers; five sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Clarence and Tommy Greathouse; and an infant brother, Joseph.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. today at Secor Funeral Home, Willard, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Reverends Doc Burrows, Savel Combs and Larry Newsome officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio.
