Helen R. Krebs, 90, of Sandusky, died early Monday evening, Dec. 24, 2007, in Erie County Care Facility, Huron, after a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 18, 1917, in Sandusky to Carl and Amelia (Baaske) Zielske. Helen was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Sandusky. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchild. Helen also enjoyed cooking, gardening, and raising gladiolas.
Helen is survived by a son, Eugene (Charla) Krebs of Sandusky; two grandchildren, Alicia H. Krebs and Michael E. Krebs, both of Sandusky; one great-grandson, Lucas Krebs; two sisters, Viriginia "Ginger" Patsch of Sandusky and Juanita (Joe) Czeczele of Bellevue; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Her husband, Joseph F. Krebs, and parents, preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. John Mawhirter will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
