Joseph Phillip Ganni, 67, of Willard, died unexpectedly Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, at home.
He was born Aug. 14, 1940, in East Liverpool, Ohio, to James Sr. and Rose (Roppa) Ganni, and wasa life-long Willard resident. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Joe had been a manager for football and basketball at Willard High School for more than 30 years, where he became friends with many coaches, players and fans. He was a loyal sports fan of the Willard Flashes, Cleveland Browns, Indians, Cavs and Ohio State.
He was a member of the Willard Elks and VFW. Joe was manager, and permanent fixture, of Carmeans Barber Shop, Willard.
He is survived by his sister, Marsha Ganni of Willard; brother James Ganni Jr. and his companion, Elaine Sneed, of Seymour, Ind.; three nieces, Ashley (Craig) Wenninger of Willard, Gina Ganni of Tiffin, and Tara Ganni of Buffalo, N.Y.; nephew, Nick Ganni of San Diego; and great-nephew Kaiden Trent Ganni of San Diego.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Sr. and Rose (Roppa) Ganni.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Secor Funeral Home, Willard, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. Stanley S. Szybkaofficiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery inWillard.
