Beatrice (Terry) Boyd, 84,Sandusky, died Thursday in Admiral's Pointe Nursing &Rehabilitation, Huron, following a courageous 17-year battle with cancer.
She was born April 19, 1923, in Lackey, Ky., the daughter of Samuel and Ruthie (Reynolds) Terry. She was a graduate of Wayland High School in Wayland, Ky. She taught school, grades one through 12, during World War II. After her marriage to Willie B. Boyd, she stayed home to raise her family. She enjoyed puzzles, gardening, quilting, canning and baking.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ann Keating, Huron; sons, Marvin L. (Barbara) Boyd, Clyde, Bill (Beth) Boyd, Fremont, and Jerry Boyd, Findlay, Ohio; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Nellie (Leonard) Roberts, Kentucky, and Augusta Stanley, Clyde; two daughters-in-law, Bonnie T. Boyd, Cleveland, and Sandy Drown, Clyde; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents; husband Willie, who died in 1986; son, Keith Boyd, who died in 1974; sisters, twin Bessie Skiver, Elizabeth Caudill, Nora Slone, Dovie Bentley and Clova Watkins; and brothers,Clarence, Jay and Ernest Terry,preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until time of funeral services at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
