Carol Stratton Overmyer, 55, finally received her wings as she passed through the gates of heaven on Dec. 17, 2007. She will never be forgotten for her love of life.
On Jan. 29, 1952, she was born in Bellevue; she attended Clyde Schools. She resided in Bellevue for many years, where she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Bellevue. Carol was a nurse's aide at Arbors at Clyde for more than 10 years. In June, 1997, she wed Thomas Overmyer; he preceded her in death.
Carol is survived by her mother, Barbara Stratton of Bellevue; daughter, Leslie (Brian) McCleese, Bellevue; son, William (June) Johnson, Bellevue; three sisters, Nora Stratton and Sue Hoffman, both of Clyde, and Janet Bloomberg, Oakwood, Ga.; and three grandchildren, Connor McCleese and Dezaria and Destiny Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her husband; father, William Stratton; paternal grandparents, Dewey and LuLu Stratton; and maternal grandparents, Carlton Smarage and Ruth Cravens.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday in Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St., Bellevue. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home; the Rev. Gene Paul will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
