Francis D. Deitenbeck, 84, of Sandusky, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus.
He was born Nov. 12, 1923, in Zanesville, Ohio. He was a retired employee of Ford Motor Company where he worked as a tool & die maker for more than 30 years. He loved fishing and working on cars.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Sherwood) Deitenbeck; daughter, Cynthia (Niles) Fuller of Sandusky; sons, Dennis Deitenbeck of Baybridge and Patrick Joseph (Frieda) Deitenbeck of New Orleans; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Gladys (Swope) Deitenbeck; an aunt and uncle, Hazel and Lawrence Deitenbeck; and a daughter-in-law, Marsha Deitenbeck.
Friends may call from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Elmer Novak will officiate. Entombment will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
