Ray "Butch" Springer, 66, of Collins, Ohio, died with his family by his side Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a sudden illness.
He was born April 7, 1941, in Bellevue, to Raymond and Ruth (Bilger) Springer. He retired in 1993 from Delphi, a division of General Motors, Sandusky, after 25 years of service. His interests were restoring garden tractors and computer projects.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nancy (Tuck), whom he married July 30, 1960; daughter, Nancee (Eric) Seitz; son, Tim (Barb) Springer; brothers, Irvin, Robert and Elwood Springer; sisters, Mardell Morgenstern, Arla Forney, Rosella Kiesel and Elaine Gibson; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Ricky and Dean Springer; parents; brothers, Dale and Don Springer; and sisters, Pauline Springer, Eunice Norman and Betty Weller.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday. Pastor Roy Harless will preside. Burial will be at Bellevue Cemetery.
