William R. Churchill, 60, of Sandusky, died Saturday evening, Dec. 9, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, after a brief illness.
He was born June 26, 1947, in Sandusky, the son of Carl and Christine (Gurtz) Churchill. He retired from the City of Sandusky Streets Department in 1998 after 30 of employment. In his spare time, he enjoyed helping his neighbors with cutting their lawns, or anything else they might need done.
His wife, the former Patricia Sani, who he married May 7, 1966; his son, John (Tammy) Churchill of Grand Rapids, Mich.; his grandson, Brent; his "Pumpkin", granddaughter, Chelsea; sisters, Esther Boesch of Sandusky, Katherine "Sis" Greene, Marlene (Robert) Lowe and Judy Andrews, all of Castalia; brothers, Harold "Butch" (Onnalee) of Vickery and Tom (Annette) Churchill of Castalia; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins survive him.
His parents; and brothers, John, Carl "Skip" Jr. and Charles David, who died in infancy, preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. Wednesday until a memorial service at 6 p.m. in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Burial will be in St. Josephs Cemetery, Sandusky.
