Margaret Carol Schuman, 80, of Heidelberg Beach, Vermilion Township, passed peacefully away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, at Providence Care Center, Sandusky, Ohio.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Huron, Ohio, for over 50 years and was active in the Hand Bell and Vocal Choirs, as well as the Presbyterian Women's Association.
She was a 1945 graduate of James Ford Rhodes High School, Brooklyn, Ohio. She was employed by Pretzer and Company (an accounting and auditing firm for financial institutions) and retired from Lorain National Bank, Lorain, Ohio. She was an avid sportswoman who loved golf, tennis, swimming, and water skiing; Blue Ribbon-winning cross-stitcher; and animal lover. She loved and supported the Arts and was a world traveler.
She leaves to cherish her memory Ray Donald, her husband of 60 years; her daughter Charlene Rae; her sons, Clifford Alan and Curtis Dale (Elizabeth Ann); five grandchildren; her brothers, Kenneth H. and Willard C.; numerous nieces and nephews, their children, and a host of dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Corinne Gail; and her mother and father, Florence Margaret Snell and Howard Beck Pretzer.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the First Presbyterian Church, 225 Williams Street, Huron. A private interment of her ashes will be at a later date at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Rittman, Ohio. Foster Funeral Home, 410 Main Street, Huron, is handling the arrangements.
