Harold G. Johannsen, 86, of Port Clinton, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2007 in Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton. He was born March 31, 1921, in Port Clinton, the son of the late John and Margaret (Steffens) Johannsen.
Harold was a farmer all his life. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and a member of the Farmers Union. He was an avid golfer and bowler.
Surviving are his daughter, Judy (Michael) Pacione of Arizona; sons, Robert (Sheila) Johannsen of Catawba Island, Gary (Christine) and Rick (Judy) Johannsen, both of Port Clinton; grandchildren Todd Johannsen, Gretchen Beck, Heidi Slobodzian, Amy Johannsen, Julie Williamson, Heather Mann, Lindsay Meek, Ashley Johannsen and Derick Johannsen; great grandchildren Regan and Peyton Beck, Paul and Joey Slobodzian and Morgan Meek.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Bona Jean, in 1995; a son, Denny in 1950; his parents; brothers, Ervin and Richard; sister, Phyllis; and granddaughter, Laurie Ann Mann.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at Neidecker, LeVeck and Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton, with services at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. James Lehman will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Ottawa County, Stein Hospice, or the Scleroderma Foundation.
