Lena P. (Alber) Goelz, 103, of Sandusky, died Thursday evening, Dec. 6, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born June 19, 1904, in Beutelsbach, Germany, and was a graduate of Beutelsbach School. She was a homemaker. She was a former member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Singara Grotto Caldron 60, and Daughter of Mokanna.
She is survived by two sons, Ralph (Marjorie) Goelz of Elyria, Ohio, and Jim Goelz of Sandusky; three grandchildren, Diana Malinkey of LaGrange, Ohio, Philip Goelz of Medina, Ohio, and Chris Goelz of Hilliard, Ohio; one sister, Rosa Gierich of Sandusky; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Christ Goelz, in 1993; her parents, Andreas and Wilhelmine (Roos) Alber; nine brothers, Karl Daniel Alber, Herman Albert Alber, Eugen Heinrich Alber, Ernst Gottlieb Alber, Otto Gottfried Alber, Traugott Johannes Alber, Albrecht Wilhelm Alber, Emil Richard Alber, and a brother in infancy; threesisters, Maria Rosine Alber, Martha Wilhelmine Alber, and Emma Maria Alber.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. Monday, until the 2 p.m. funeral services at Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. David Flack will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
