Eldon B. Miller, 84, of Monroeville, died Monday evening, Dec. 3, 2007, in Providence Care Center, Sandusky, after a brief illness.
He was born March 8, 1923, in Monroeville and was a 1941 graduate of Monroeville High School. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of WW II. Eldon was a retired farmer. He was a active member of the Congregational Community United Church of Christ, Monroeville, Central Erie Supply and Elevator Board, past commodore and member of the blue gavel at Nugents Canal Yacht Club, Port Clinton, life member of American Legion Post 547, Monroeville, and a life member of the VFW Post 1238, Bellevue.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, the former Elizabeth A. Stotz, whom he married Sept. 2, 1945; one daughter, Sue (Thomas) Lund of Monroeville; two sons, Thornton (Kay) Miller of Dallas, and Scott (Teresa) Miller of Monroeville; one sister, Harriet (Edgar) Stein of Monroeville; and six grandchildren, one great grandchild, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Irene (Sprau) Miller; and a brother, Laverne Miller.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe St., Monreville. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Congregational Community United Church of Christ, 29 Chapel St., Monroeville. The Rev. Dr. Wayne Chasney will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Monroeville.
