Lois Jean (Kriss) Fox, 81, of Sandusky passed way Monday morning, Dec. 3, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a lengthy illness. She resided until recently at Commons of Providence Special Care Unit, where she loved the residents, staff and especially the facility dog, Mason.

Lois was born April 29, 1926, to John F. and Almenia (Ruggles) Kriss in Sandusky. She attended Sandusky High School, graduating in 1944. She began her working life at Ohio Bell Telephon Company as an operator. On Jan. 15, 1946, she married her beloved husband, Frank "Pete" Fox Sr. in Sandusky. Together they moved to Isle St. George (North Bass Island), where they resided until 1962, when they moved to Sandusky. Mrs. Fox worked for F.W. Woolworth's as personnel supervisor for 25 years. Upon her retirement, Pete and Lois spent winters at their home in Fort Myers, Fla.

She was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, Sandusky, American Legion Auxiliary, and loved going with the "Class of 1944" girls for lunch.

She is survived by one son, Frank L. "Pete" (Amy) Fox Jr. of Huron; one daughter, Dianne J. (Gary) Bath of Castalia; three grandchildren, Allison M. Bath of Burroughs of Surprise, Ariz., Casey A. Fox of Akron, Ohio, and Brian W. Fox of Huron; special nieces, Lois Jean (Curt) Papenfus of Canton, Ohio, and Kristie (Terry) Conaway of Port Clinton; two sisters, Elaine (Richard) Hammond of Sandusky and Virginia Scannell of West Hills, Calif.; one sister-in-law, Bonnie (James) Semon of Westlake, Ohio; and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank L. Fox Sr. in 2003; her parents; one sister, Geraldine Margaret Kowalk; one brother, John Kenneth Kriss; and a special nephew, Robert John Kowalk.

Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. Wednesday until funeral service at 1:30 p.m. at Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Philip Gardner will officiate. Burial will be in Perkins Township Cemetery.
