Sylvia H. "Peg" Upton, 81, of Clyde, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, at her home.
Peg was born Nov. 3, 1926, in Port Austin, Mich., and lived in the Clyde area most of her life. She graduated from Townsend High School in 1943; was a life member of Eagles Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary. She was a college regent in Women of the Moose. Mrs. Upton worked at the General Electric plant in Bellevue, then later at Eaton in Fremont prior to her retirement.
Survivors include her son, Robert W. (Kathy) Upton of Fremont; Peg's companion of 39 plus years, Edward Felter of Clyde; Felter's son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Bobbie Felter of Coshocton, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Robert III, Rachel, Ryan (Nikki), Angela, Ruth, Douglas and Lisa; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Upton Sr., whom she married in November 1945 and who died July 3, 1964.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde, where funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery, Clyde.
