Calling hours for Leora E. Selders, 86, of Newark, Ohio, and formerly of Danville and Berlin Heights, Ohio, will be from 2-4 p.m. today at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark. Additional calling hours will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until funeral services 11 a.m. at Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South St., Berlin Heights. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Selders, a basket weaver with Berlin Heights Basket Factory, passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2007, at Flint Ridge Nursing Center.
She was born April 12, 1921, in Drum Bottoms, Ohio, to Roy and Mabel (Baker) Snider, now deceased. Affectionately known as "The Rug Lady," Leora was known for her homemade rag rugs that she sold at flea markets in Danville and in South Amherst.
Leora is survived by her brother, Cecil Snider of Glenford, Ohio; sisters, Mildred E. Weitzel of Howard, Ohio, and Mae Galliez and Wanda Gildow, both of Newark; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Selders was preceded in death by husband, Kenneth Selders; and four brothers and a sister.
