Joan R. Long, 63, of Sandusky, passed away late Friday evening, Nov. 30, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, with her family and friends around her.
She was born Oct. 21, 1944, in Detroit, and was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Cheboygan, Mich. She worked for more than 20 years at Periodical Publishers Service Bureau Inc., in Sandusky. She was an avid bingo player at Holy Angels Catholic Church, enjoyed reading and loved her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Francine (Sparky) Howser and Sheri (Tom) Halbisen, both of Sandusky; son, Douglas (Tina) Long Jr. of Norwalk; eight grandchildren, Kristin, Tabitha, Mercedes, Maya, Gabby, Sidney, Samantha and Sheppard; sisters, Rosemarie "Mimi" (Frank "Bud") Hawkes of Cheboygan, Nancy (Ron) Wilson of Walker Lake , Nev., and Carol (Joe) Nagorka of Warren, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Martha (Schramm) Webber; brother, Frank "Sonny" Webber Jr.; nephew, Dennis Hawkes; and a niece in infancy, Sandra Ann Hawkes.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday at David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.
At her request, following visitation, she will be cremated.
