Charles Victor Brown, 74, of 219 48th St., Sandusky, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was born Aug. 26, 1933, in Sandusky, and was a 1951 graduate of Sandusky High School. He was a 35-year employee of Ohio Bell Company, retiring in 1985. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Signal Corps
Mr. Brown was a member and past president of the Erie County Conservation League, past exalted ruler of Elks Lodge 285, and was also a member of Orioles Club, Sandusky Yacht Club, and Huron Yacht Club.
He is survived by a daughter, Ellen (John) Ballas, Rocky River, Ohio; two sons, David A. (Susan) Brown of Woodlands, Texas; and Larry C. (Susan) Brown of Smithville, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Keith, Eric and Grace Brown, Abigail, Kristen and John Brown, Michelena and Dominic Ballas; one sister, Mary Ellen Snyder of Phoenix; and his former wife, Suanne (Neer) Brown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis H. and Evelyn M. (Miller) Brown; four sisters, Virginia Brown, Doris Brown, Kathryn Marie Miller and Betty Jane Gorman; and two brothers in infancy.
There will be no visitation and family services will be private. Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, is handling arrangements.
