Bessie Mae (Tye) Brown, 79, of Sandusky, went home to be with the Lord and her husband, Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
She was born April 17, 1928, in Harland, Ky., to John and Bessie (Francis) Tye, now deceased. She moved to Sandusky as a very young lady and was a member of Emmanuel Temple.
She leaves a host of loving family and friends including her sister, Mrs. Velma Gentry of Kansas City, Mo.; special nephews, Bill Prophet and Jessie Brown; special great-niece, Sonya (Scott) Patrick; good friends, Mrs. Alberta Humphries and Jack Brown.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Samuel Brown; her parents, brothers, George, Johnny, Clarence, Carl, Bobby and Earl Tye; and sisters, Reatha Tye, Mattie Prophet, Pearl Livesay and Doris Coker.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. Tuesday until funeral services at 1 p.m. at Emmanuel Temple, 128 E. Adams St., Sandusky. Dr. Bishop Rufus G.W. Sanders will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
