Charles Victor Brown, 75, residing at 219 48th St. Sandusky, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
He was born on Aug. 26, 1933, in Sandusky, and was a 1951 graduate of Sandusky High School. He was a 35-year employee of the Ohio Bell Co., retiring in 1985. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Signal Corps.
Mr. Brown was a member and past president of the Erie County Conservation League, past exalted ruler of the Elks Lodge 285 and was a member of Orioles Club, theSandusky Yacht Club and the Huron Yacht Club.
He is survived by a daughter Ellen and John Ballas, Rocky River, Ohio; two sons David A. and Susan Brown, Woodlands, Texas, and Larry C. and Susan Brown, Smithville, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Keith, Eric, Grace, Abigail, Kristen and John Brown, Michelena and Dominic Ballas; one sister Mary Ellen Snyder, Phoenix, Ariz.; and his former wife, Susanne (Neer) Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis H. and Evelyn M. (Miller) Brown; four sisters, Virginia Brown, Doris Brown, Kathryn Marie Miller and Betty Jane Gorman; and two brothers in infancy.
There will no visitation andfamily services will be private. The Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E.Perkins Ave., Sandusky, is in charge of arrangements.
