Rocco F. Straziuso, 73, of Chillicothe, Ohio, died at 5:25 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, in Westmoreland Place Nursing Home, after an extended illness.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Haller's Funeral Home, 1661 Western Ave., Chillicothe, where an Eagle's Memorial Service will be at 7:45 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Haller Funeral Home. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery.
He was born May 6, 1934, in Sandusky, to Michael and Dominica Missioni Straziuso. On Feb. 14, 1988, he married Loueda Holbert Bolte, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Marie and Jacqueline Straziuso of Miami, Fla., Rocco Jr. of Orlando, Fla., and Tony Straziuso of Los Angeles; grandchildren, Zachary, Ariel, Tim and Annette; stepchildren, Debra Kimbler of Urbana, Ohio, Donna (Thomas) Young of Columbus, Ohio, and Steve (Karen) Bolte of Urbana; his stepgrandchildren, Amanda Goldsmith, Valerie Webb, Jillian and Katlyn Young, and Michael Bolte; stepgreat-grandchildren, Madison, Kylie, Harley, and Mitchell; brothers and sister, Michael (Elizabeth), Anthony (Janet), Dan (Jane) and John (Pam) Straziuso and Joanne (Bob) Michel; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a son, John Michael, and his parents.
Mr. Straziuso retired from the Dietetics Department of the VA Medical Center. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War; a member of AMVETS Post 4; VFW Post 62; American Legion, Post 62; Ross County Senior Citizens; and a very active member of Eagles Aerie 600, where he served as secretary for 10 years.
