George R. Liddington, 87, of Huron, died Saturday evening, Nov. 17, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a brief illness.
He was born Dec. 30, 1919, in Cleveland and was a Huron resident since 1959. George was employed at Turner Construction Company, Cleveland, retiring in 1982. Prior to that, he worked for Irvin & Company, Cleveland. He was a member of Marks Lodge No. 359, F. & A.M. and the Teamsters Union.
He is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Jim) Hartley and Beatrice Kinn, both of Huron; one son, Arthur (Pat) Witek of Strongsville, Ohio; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one sister, Betty Couch of Cleveland; two brothers, James and William Liddington, both of Cleveland; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne, in 2005; and his parents, James and Inez (Brendy) Liddington.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Foster Funeral Home, 410 Main St., Huron, where Marks Lodge will conduct memorial services at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Roger Skelley-Watts officiating. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery.
