Josephine F. Montelauro, of Sandusky, died Friday evening, Nov. 16, 2007, in Concord Care Nursing Home after an extended illness.
She was born April 7, 1920, in Castalia to Frank and Elizabeth Kelley, now deceased. She was a 1938 graduate of Margaretta High School. Josephine was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She was devoted to her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She loved to write poetry, and had her poetry published by the following, The Free Press; The Scene, "Jottings By Jo"; Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Bulletin; and the Men's Garden Club Newsletter.
Her husband, Allen Montelauro; two daughters, Carole Ann (Richard) Baker of Eastlake, Ohio, and Judy Ellen (Bob) Montelauro-Harrell of Ashtabula, Ohio; her son, Tom (Barbara) Montelauro of Southgate, Mich.; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Irene Krawetske of Sandusky and Grace Hahn of Kansas City, Mo.; sister-in-law, Jo Kelley; and several nieces and nephews survive her.
Her parents, Frank and Elizabeth (Szabo) Kelley; her brother, Bill Kelley; and sister, Clara Jones, preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Pastor John Mawhirter will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park.
