Charles R. Shortridge, 75, of Port Clinton, died Wednesday,Nov. 14, 2007, in Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor.
He was born July 13, 1932, in Kentucky, the son of Richard and Hazel (Atkins) Shortridge, now deceased. He married Nancy Jeremy on July 19, 1951, and she preceded him in death on June 29, 1998. He was the owner/operator of Shortridge Tree Service and House Moving.
Surviving are his sons, Charles L. "Rick" (Mary Jo) Shortridge of Castalia, Lawrence "Lonnie" (Rebecca) Shortridge of Port Clinton and Mark (Rhonda) Shortridge of Marblehead; daughters, Mary Buzzard of Port Clinton, Joni (David) Betschman of Georgia and Nancy (Ray) Haugh of Findlay, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brother,William (Shirley) Shortridge of Fremont; and half sister, Ernestine Riddle of Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and grandson, Mike Hoffman.
Visitation will be from 9 p.m. Saturday until funeral services will be at 11 a.m. at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton, with Pastor Jim Lehman officiating. Burial will be inLaCarpe Cemetery, Lacarne, Ohio.
