Robert F. Roth, 85, of 3808 Venice Road, Sandusky, died Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 13, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness.
He was born Sept. 20, 1922, in Sandusky and was a 1941 Sandusky High School graduate. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired from Farrell-Cheek Steel in 1983 following 43 years of service. Bob was a member of St. Stephen United Church of Christ. He was a life-member of the VFW, a member of American Legion, the former I.A.B. Club, Orioles Club, and Med 800 Club. He enjoyed playing golf at Thunderbird Hills Golf Course where he won the Senior Class B Championship.
Mr. Roth is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jean (Andres) Roth; a daughter, Patricia Kathleen (Arthur B.) Sulkin of Houston, Texas; a granddaughter, Melissa Kilpatrick; a great-granddaughter, MeganKilpatrick; a great-grandson, Drew Kilpatrick; nieces, Barbara Bickley, Donna Steiert, Carol Roth and Cheryl Bambach; nephews, Wayne "Skip", Randy, Ricky and Scott Roth; as well as several great-nieces and nephews.
His parents, Carl and Ione (Bickley) Roth; brothers, Donald and Wayne Roth; and a grandson, Jameson Sulkin, preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Monday until a memorial service at 11 a.m. in St. Stephen United Church of Christ, 905 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Ken Heintzelman will officiate. Groff Funeral Home is handlingarrangements.
