Robert H. "Bob" Huth, 78, of Sandusky, passed away early Tuesday morning, Nov. 13, 2007, in Ohio Veterans Home, after a lengthy illness.
He was born Sept. 13, 1929, and was a lifelong resident of Sandusky. He was a 1947 graduate of Sandusky High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Tokyo, Japan, during the Korean War. He worked with his family at the William O. Huth Grocery Store for many years and loved the grocery business. He sold the store in 1967 and then worked at Firelands Winery until hisretirement in 2002.
Bob was an avid follower of all sporting events on local, state and national levels. He was also a Sandusky High School football season ticket holder for more than 50 years. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and for 50 years, he bowled on the Knights of Columbus Bowling League.
He is survived by his brothers, William (Ann) Huth of Spring Hill, Fla., and James (Mary) Huth of Sandusky; nephews, James Jr., Kevin and Randy Huth; nieces, Laurie Huth, Kathleen (Scott) Zielinski and Molly Huth; grand-nephew, Kelan Zielinski; grand-niece, Hazel Zielinski; plus many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William O. and Loretto (Theibert) Huth, and a nephew, William O. Huth III.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave.,Sandusky, with a Rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Prayers will be recited at 9:40 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. MartyNassr will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Sandusky.
