Janet C. (Hendrickson) McCann, 70, of Huron, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after an extended illness.
She was born July 22, 1937, in Sandusky, and was a lifelong resident of the Sandusky area except for seven years she lived in Connecticut, moving back to the area in 1965. She graduated from Sandusky High School in 1955.
She worked for New Departure Hyatt, Sandusky, for four years then went to Betty Rinderle School where she worked for six years. She also worked for the Sandusky City Schools for several years. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Huron, and was an avid bowler and golfer.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, James A. McCann; a daughter, Joan Heinrich of Jupiter, Fla.; a son, Jim (Sandee) McCann of Gahanna, Ohio; grandchildren, Megan Heinrich at home, Jim McCann at Bowling Green State University, and Stephanie McCann at home; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Lucille (Steinen) Hendrickson; sisters, Carol Pusateri and Rita Weltlin; and a brother, Chick Hendrickson.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Foster Funeral Home, 410 Main St., Huron. A memorial mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main St., Huron, with the Rev. Jeffery Sikorski, officiating.
