Paul F. Wagenknecht, 85, of Sandusky, passed away Wednesday morning in the Lutheran Memorial Home, Sandusky.
He was born July 6, 1922, in Petersburg, Mich., and he graduated from high school in 1939. He was an U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Paul worked for Ford Motor Co., retiring in 1980. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Grace's Fellowship Club, VFW in Clyde, Townsend Ruritan, Masonic Lodge 8 of Trenton, Mich., Car Coddlers of Ohio, the Gideons International and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marilyn (Rader) Wagenknecht; two daughters, Jean (Jeff) Smith of Castalia and Judy (David) Estep of Clyde; son, Jerry (Peggy) Wagenknecht of Chicago, Ill.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dale and Bill Wagenknecht; and a sister, Betty Layman.
Paul was preceded in deathby his parents, Frederick andHenrietta (Winter) Wagenknecht.
Friends may call from noon Saturday until services at 1 p.m. in Grace Lutheran Church, 203 S. Washington St., Castalia. The Rev. Kathleen Suggitt will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. Ransom Funeral Home, Castalia, is in charge of arrangements.
