John B. Schau, 72, of Port Clinton, passed away, Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
He was born June 12, 1935, in Port Clinton, the son of Harold Jacob and Wava Margarite (Young) Schau. On April 28, 1954, in Angola, Ind., he married Mary L. Luebcke and she preceded him in death on Oct. 3, 2005. John worked as a foreman at Black's Machine Shop and Standard Products. He was a bridge tender for Ottawa County retiring in 1997. John was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton. He was a social member of VFW Homer D. Gardner Post 2480 and the David W. Leonard Aerie 2295, both of Port Clinton. John was a past member of Elks Lodge 1718. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
Survivors include his son, Bob (Carole) Schau of Port Clinton; daughter, Lynn Schau of Port Clinton; grandchildren, Laura and Jody; four great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald (Eilene) Schau.
John was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
At the request of the family, there will be no visitation or services.
Memorial contributions in memory of John may be given to Stein Hospice Service or to a charity of the donor's choice.
