Virginia E. (Wadsworth) Hartley, 92, of 1411 Mudbrook Road, Huron, passed away Thursday morning, Nov. 1, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born June 5, 1915, in Castalia, and graduated in 1933 from Margaretta High School. She was employed at Bing's Furniture and Value City Furniture Store for 15 years and Herman's Furniture for five years.
She was a member of the Castalia Congregational United Church of Christ; Phi Theta Club; Eagles Club of Huron; and the Resthaven Golden Agers.
She is survived by her daughter, Darlene (Cookie) Walker of Marblehead; four sons Donald (Jerry) Hartley of Huron, Thomas (Sandy) Hartley and Robert (Ronda) Hartley, both of Sandusky, and Ronald (Sheri) Hartley of Bellevue; 24 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
Virginia was preceded in death her husband, Charles Hartley; son, Eldon in 1983; two grandsons, Richard and Joseph Hartley; parents, Merritt J. and Lillian (Hoffman) Wadsworth; one brother, Gaylord Wadsworth; and one sister in infancy.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Sunday in Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where services will be 11 a.m. Monday. Pastor John Paputza will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
